Apple Bacon Salad with Maple Balsamic Dressing

This sweet savory salad pairs well with grilled chicken



Serves 4


2 heads of romaine lettuce hearts

8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 large apples, cored and diced

1 stalk celery, thinly sliced

½ cup pecans

1 teaspoon butter

4 ounces Feta cheese, preferably French, crumbled

  1. in a small pan saute the pecans in the butter until lightly brown

  2. Toss the romaine, bacon, apples, celery pecans and feta in a large salad bowl with the maple balsamic dressing and serve



Maple Balsamic Dressing

Makes about 1 ¼ cups - enough for this recipe and extra, store leftovers in the refrigerator


⅓ cup balsamic vinegar

1 cup avocado oil (can substitute olive oil)

¼ pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon salt


  1. In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine all of the ingredients and shake well
