
This all time family favorite got a little make over and now they are even better!
1 pound thick cut bacon, cut into thirds
3 cans whole water chestnuts drained
Marinade:
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1-2 rounded tablespoons Gochujang, depending on how spicy you like it
Equipment :
Toothpicks
Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
Combine the marinade ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine
Add the water chestnuts and toss to coat them
Wrap each water chestnut with a third of a slice of bacon and secure the bacon with a toothpick
Place them on the parchment lined baking sheet, and brush lightly with the remaining marinade
Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the edges of the bacon become dark brown
Serve warm or room temperature, I am sure they reheat well, but we have never had leftovers...
