Breakfast Bowl

This is more about grocery management than a recipe. I love this combination for breakfast - a diced apple, a clementine orange, cottage cheese, golden raisins and shredded sweetened coconut. Because I try to shop only once a week, these items will stay fresh in my refrigerator or pantry for a couple of weeks, making them a great go-to breakfast, snack or addition to a salad. I purchase seasonal fruits in smaller quantities and make sure they are consumed early in the week to reduce the chance of having to throw out anything that is past its prime - management is key to reducing waste.

I reserve one of my produce drawers just for apples and citrus fruit
