Chestnut Chai Smoothie



Chestnuts are a naturally sweet mild nut that lend themselves nicely to both sweet and savory dishes . I understand they are a good source of antioxidants, but try them most of all because they are delicious.


¼ cup (about 6) roasted and shelled chestnuts*

1 cup milk of your choice

1 ripe banana

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon chai spice mix

A handful of ice


  • Place all of the above in a blender and blend until smooth, pour into a glass and sprinkle a bit of the Chai spice mix on top.


Chai Spice mix

(Enough for about 10 smoothies)

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon ground ginger

1 tablespoon ground cardamom

½ tablespoon freshly ground nutmeg

2 pinches of ground clove


*Look for them in a foil pouch, already roasted and shelled, without anything added. Refrigerate them after opening the package.
